In the world of gaming, there will always be the dreaded console wars. Some gamers that are "fanboys" of a certain system gladly embrace this war in the hopes that the console they love will be in front when new consoles are released. Some say the Xbox 360 was released far too early. Some say the PS3 is too overpriced for a next gen console. Some say that the Wii is too childish for their tastes. These three people all have the same thing in common, they are fanboys. Then there are the people that hate the whole idea of…

Saw the film earlier today in 3D Imax. I am in awe of its awesomeness. I know fans and critics are divided on how they feel. All I know is that I absolutely love Superman Returns. I felt that all performances were strong, especially James Marsden, Kevin Spacey, and Brandon Routh. Oh my god…Brandon Routh. I really felt he was Clark Kent, I really felt he was Superman. The film is absolutely beautiful. The Daily Planet looks incredible. The special effects were for the most part, not even noticeable. I thought almost everything looked real. Brandon Routh actually looked like he…

I just wanted to brief you all on some things that will be happening in the coming weeks. I just finished all of my finals for school, and school thankfully is now over for me. This means I can put most of my time into finishing a few games and will hopefully get reviews for those games up right afterwards. Other staff members will be reviewing games soon as well so be sure to check out the review section of the site later on to read them.By the looks of the voting in the forums, it looks like the new time…
If you haven’t checked out the latest gameshow, please do so on the previous post, or here…Well, summer’s here. It’s been damn hot. I especially love staying in a nice cool air conditioned area playing my DS Lite. Speaking of DS…Go NintendoFinal Fantasy III for the DS is Nintendo Wi-Fi compatible! No word yet on exactly how it will be playable.IGN BoardsApparently the upcoming issue of Game Informer reports that Red Steel has recently been tweaked."Not only did the remote replicate our actual sword-slashes, but the recenty unveiled motion sensor in the nunchuck could be thrust foreward for parry attacks.""As…

Check this out, "Microsoft’s Matt Lee, a software engineer for the Game Technology Group, doesn’t believe the Cell chip has been designed with gaming in mind; he says certain aspects of the Sony chip make it unsuited for running game code. He also believes Xbox 360 and PS3 are about equal in terms of performance.""In particular, Lee said that the Cell processor’s Synergistic Processor Elements (SPEs) make the chip more suitable for other operations, not necessarily gaming. ‘ "I don’t think the Cell is as well designed for game development as Sony would have you believe. Some aspects of the…

I seem to have caught the stomach flu.. I’d love to do the show but then I’d be making pretty steady trips to the bathroom. We’re going to do a make up show on Tuesday, I believe. We’ll keep you posted on the front page.
It came back exactly the way it left: Plastic bagged and cardboard boxed. Yeah, I finally got my 360 back.It works, no question, though wish I would’ve thought to mark it somehow, tell if it was replaced or repaired. I was halfway hoping they’d include a couple months of Live or something, consolation for losing my ‘box in the Lone Star state. Nope, nothing, though getting it running again was painless, thanks to the detachable hard drive that I kept while the ‘box was away.In other news, I took the time to download Half Life 2: Lost Coast. It’s not…

This is some lovely video from the Wii booth. There’s some footage from several Wii games including Tennis, Metroid, Mario, and the Orchestra game played by Koji Kondo. Sorry for the name mispelling in the video…

Nintendo cleaned up at this year’s Best of E3 Game Critics Awards. The Wii was honored with "Best of Show" and "Best Hardware,"It was only a matter of time until we knew what the Wii was packing. Nintendo took away best of show and best hardware for the Wii. Even doing better than the PS3 and the long anticipated game and Will Wrights baby, "Spore". Nintendo is showing that in the gaming world, originality and hard work will win in the end."Nintendo’s Wii console took top honors by beating out some stiff competition in Will Wright’s Spore, Microsoft’s and Epic’s Gears…

My 360! It’s back in Tex-ass now, after floating around the Midwest for the better part of three weeks. Apparently they fixed it, shipped it here, tried to deliver it (I wasn’t there to pick it up – E3), tried again, couldn’t find the address, sat on it for a week, and sent it back to Texas. Only then did someone try to contact me, a nice lady from Microsoft, explaining the sad story. It’s puzzling, how one guy could find my place, but not the other. I mean, it’s not like I live in the middle of a suburban maze,…
Check back late tonight for my E3 post. I’m having trouble loading pictures because there are so many of them. I think there are 108 pictures I’m putting up, and that’s only part one! Here’s a pic that I like…
I think I got poison ivy or something. My arms are getting mutated with itchy bumps. Speaking of mutations, X-Men: The Last Stand will be released tommorow. I will be watching it not because I think it will be as good as the previous ones, but for pure entertainment. I'm sure the action sequences will be awesome, but I don't expect much this time around for the character interaction, dialogue, and plot. Alright, so here's part one of my E3 stuff. Stay tuned, as there are still more pics and more importantly, video to be posted.

The Show is tomorrow at 7 this week, not today. Have a great Sunday!
The Show is tomorrow at 7 this week, not today. Have a great Sunday! As we all know, E3 was officially over just one week ago. We got very big news from Nintendo and Sony, and Xbox360 owners needn’t to fret, they will soon be able to get their hands on the highly coveted future release of "Halo 3". Nintendo gave us big news on new games to come out for the Wii, and although everyone is excited, where the hell is the price point? Sure they say it will be cheaper than the two other consoles, but just how cheap? I’m…
If you havent listened to the latest Game Show yet, check it out. It was long but we has alot to talk about, and even then we didn’t really get to talk about everything that we wanted to… Anyways, if you’ve been wondering where that hell I’ve been, to sum it up…school. This is finals week, and they are a beeyotch. Moreso than I had anticipated. I don’t have many written finals, but basically, I have all these projects to turn in. As I did the week before E3, I had a exciting 48+ hour session of no sleep. I’ll…
I’ve been playing the New Super Mario Bros game, and I must say that I love it so far. It looks, feels, and plays just like old school Mario. To me it feels mostly like Super Mario Bros. 1, with some Super Mario World and Super Mario 2 thrown in.This game is quite refreshing. I sat down and played it for several hours the first sitting.. It definitely hooked me. One thing that I’ve noticed so far is that the game seems to be a bit easy. That may be because I grew up on games like this, but it…

Both Weezer and I agree: This was the our best E3 yet. It’s taken a couple years, but always get better, refine our game, learn the in’s and out’s. Such trial and error learning has culminated in a very productive E3. We swapped cards, shook hands, bitched, whined, and moaned with some of the most interesting and important people in the industry, got our mitts on some truly revolutionary games, and milked the swag competitions for all they were worth. We worked hard, and we have a lot to show for it (besides swag). Here’s some final impressions leaving the floor…
Don’t have many pics to show you today, since most of our time was sewn up in meetings and interviews, which we’ll make available once we’re back in native Kansas. We’d do it now, except the hotel bandwidth is, as usual, being raped by all the other journalists staying here. Even getting these 17K jaypegs to the FTP server is harder than pulling a porcupine out of its hole backwards. When we did get out onto the floor, we used it wisely. The highlight was the Spore display, ran personally by Will Wright. And you thought you’d seen the good stuff…
But I’d like to make it clear: God created E3 as a media event, but it is no more. When fathers and sons, boyfriends and girlfriends, mothers and daughters show up and do nothing but nab swag and get in my way, I know that E3 has become more of a theme park than a media event. This is, as a member of the media, very dissapointing, but not at all suprising. After all, the ESA is getting upwards of $500 for every Target and Boeing employee that wants to go. Even the all-holy ESA is not above that kind of…
