BreakmanX (AKA Matthew Nyquist) founded BreakmanX.com in 2001 after having small video game websites since around 1996. Things really took off in September of 2002 when he started The Game Show with Richie. BreakmanX.com quickly developed a tight knit community of gamers as the crew covered major industry events and interviewed top industry talent. Break later went to the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts to get his MFA in Film and TV Production. He worked in Hollywood for seven years with people like Fred Roos (The Godfather Trilogy, Star Wars) and Dane Davis (The Matrix). He's now gone full circle and returned to Kansas to write and direct a feature film (EyesOpenMovie.com), relaunch The Game Show (BreakmanX.com), and spend his day time hours as an tenured Associate Professor.

Nintendo cleaned up at this year’s Best of E3 Game Critics Awards. The Wii was honored with "Best of Show" and "Best Hardware,"It was only a matter of time until we knew what the Wii was packing. My 360! It’s back in Tex-ass now, after floating around the Midwest for the better part of three weeks. Apparently they fixed it, shipped it here, tried to deliver it (I wasn’t there to pick it up – E3), tried again, couldn’t find the address, sat on it for a week, and sent it back to Texas. I think I got poison ivy or something. My arms are getting mutated with itchy bumps. Speaking of mutations, X-Men: The Last Stand will be released tommorow. I will be watching it not because I think it will be as good as the previous ones, but for pure entertainment. I'm sure the action sequences will be awesome, but I don't expect much this time around for the character interaction, dialogue, and plot. Alright, so here's part one of my E3 stuff. I’ve been playing the New Super Mario Bros game, and I must say that I love it so far. It looks, feels, and plays just like old school Mario. To me it feels mostly like Super Mario Bros. 1, with some Super Mario World and Super Mario 2 thrown in.This game is quite refreshing. I sat down and played it for several hours the first sitting.. Both Weezer and I agree: This was the our best E3 yet. It’s taken a couple years, but always get better, refine our game, learn the in’s and out’s. Such trial and error learning has culminated in a very productive E3. We swapped cards, shook hands, bitched, whined, and moaned with some of the most interesting and important people in the industry, got our mitts on some truly revolutionary games, and milked the swag competitions for all they were worth. We worked hard, and we have a lot to show for it (besides swag).Here’s some final impressions leaving the floor…
Don’t have many pics to show you today, since most of our time was sewn up in meetings and interviews, which we’ll make available once we’re back in native Kansas. We’d do it now, except the hotel bandwidth is, as usual, being raped by all the other journalists staying here.
