The Game Show started in September 2002 in Lawrence, KS and features a mix of humor, insider information, and fan engagement, reflecting the excitement and anticipation for upcoming games. The Game Show had two events early on that gained much attention. First was the Penny Arcade interview in March, and then the Halo 2 interview in May of 2003. This was one of the very first Halo 2 interviews, and is unique for being live with listeners asking questions during the show. Featuring BreakmanX and his co-hosts Richie and ShadowmanX discussing various topics related to video games, particularly focusing on…

Hey, what’s up? This is BreakmanX. It has been awhile. (Apologies if you’re getting this twice, there was an issue with the first one) Logen Bodenhamer and Darria Dennison are directing a BreakmanX.com documentary. More info and preview clips here: https://www.breakmanx.com/2024/11/13/breakmanx-movie/ They will be posting new clips every Friday. In addition, I have put the site back up with all the content going back to the beginning. Shows aren’t currently available, but I will be adding some as we go. And potentially a return to some NEW episodes of The Game Show as well with some old and new faces. Forums are…
Just confirmed our first recording for February 6th, so you should be seeing the episode a day or so after that. Proud to announce that our first episode back will feature guest host, Caffeine Media Girl. Click that link and check out her videos, she has some great stuff.
Hello everyone! It feels great to be typing in this space again after too long of a vacation. There’s a lot going on with me right now, personally, and that lead to the screeching halt this website experienced in November. We are alive, and we are back.
People asked why I liked Windows 8. Here you go. IMPORTANT NOTE – I had not installed Origin yet on this computer, the shortcut on the desktop is from a previous install.
By now, you’ve heard. NSMB2 is bad and not original and all sorts of things that go bump in the night. Well, I’m here to tell you that if you own a 3DS or like 2d Maro games, this is a must and by far the best 2D Mario game since World 2 Yoshi’s Island, if not SMW itself.
We’re not dead, we are very much alive. A lot has happened since I posted last. Whatever I have been sick with off and on since May never quite went away, and each time it got worse and worse. I ended up in the hospital, and am just now starting to feel kind of normal. We were going to do a show today or tomorrow, but interface fried last night, apparently its been dying for a while which explains some odd tech diffs, so we are at the mercy of UPS to deliver my replacement. We’ll be back as soon…
The show is currently outputting and then will travel across the land of ethernet to the storage medium we call Padinga.com. Until then, here’s a trailer that got Q interested in Battlefield 3 again. After the jump of course.
I’m proud to announce my return to the living AND the fact that we will be recording an episode of The Game Show tonight. Remember that we don’t broadcast the recording live anymore, so don’t show up here tonight at 7. Or do, and read Shane’s fabulous post again, I don’t know, its your evening do what you like. But, know that at 7:00PM Pacific we will be talking about video games and that I should be able to upload it tonight for a late Wednesday or early Thursday download. I’ve had several people emailing me, and even our beloved…
Hey guys, sorry that there hasn’t been a show uploaded this week. I got super sick this week with multiple infections and am on hardcore antibiotics. I feel like total turd, but my recovery should be complete in the next couple days. Q, Eric, and I will record ourselves discussing games and clawing at each other’s throats THIS week. You should see an mp3 file on this space Wednesdayish. Until then, here’s an old picture of Q (during his hatred of Xbox period) being forced to play Halo. Ahh, the Breakdom of my freshman year in college. And typing this…
Hey guys, we will have a special E3 edition of The Game Show up towards the end of the week, discussing all the amazing E3 news from the past week! Stay tuned…
Just a year ago, Nintendo first added a U to the end of their Wii dynasty and showed some very incomplete games and hardware. After stock plunges and a year of confusion, the Wii U is finally in a state where we can make our judgment. Is it any good?
Break, Eric, and Q all sound off on the Microsoft and Sony press conferences. Was the MS presser really as bad as people think it was? What highlights of the Sony presser made even a hater like Q show some respect? Will the Caped Crusader reach the Boy Wonder in time to save him from an acidic doom? Find out in our video! (Two out of three, anyway.)
With an extremely heavy heart, I must announce that Dr. Noh / Joe Noh is no longer a staff member of Padinga.com. The split is not one of anger and he was not fired or asked to quit. He resigned on his own volition. Dr. Noh decided that he would rather maintain a normal friendship with the Padinga crew rather than be co-workers as he felt that it was in the best interest of Padinga and his friendships with our staff. He joined Padinga, largely, to maintain our friendship with me after I moved to LA. Now that he has…
Doug Lombardi of Valve confirmed that there will be no Steam console, at least in the near future. Whether it is hardware made by another manufacturer or hardware made directly by Valve it is not a project they are currently working on, or at least talking about… yet. Valve has had a Big Picture mode since the early days of Half-Life 1 to test their games on all types of displays. The current “prototype” is part of this initiative, and not a new thing.
As many of you know, I am not the biggest fan of games where you play as a floating gun or hands holding a gun. I know this is supposed to immerse you in the game, or some bullshit, but I always feel taken out by the fact that the developers are usually going for ultimate realism, and that always falls short since it is not possible at the current time. You see how much I mean it by the run on sentence. Save for sports games, I like games that take place in worlds that I could never go.…
As some of you know, I am currently making a movie called The Gamer. The movie is based on my belief that unique people are what really drives the world, and the main character is based on our beloved Q. The Q in the movie is a fictionalized version of Q, but many of his traits revolve around “The Real Q.” I would say this is similar to how in Seinfeld, Kramer is built around an actual friend they had in real life named Kramer. No other name or personality would do, and I think when you see the movie…
If you have a 3DS or DSi turn it on and download this for FREE while you still can. Go on, I did it. Also, tonight is the 9th anniversary, to the day, of the first game show ever. Tune in 🙂 7 Pacific, 8 Mountain, 9 Central, 10 Eastern.
Wow, this game is pretty good. If you loved Mega Man 9 and other retro games, you really have to give it a try. Besides the graphics, this game could easily hail from the 16 bit era and before. Difficulty is up there, but nothing you haven’t experienced before if you’ve been gaming since before the PSX. I like. You should play.
Hello, it is I, BreakmanX. Due to last night’s show and to honor Mecha, I will be going by the name “Port Authority” on this post. So now, it is I, The Port Authority and today I will be talking about Ocarina of Time 3DS and the 3DS in general. If you’ve been following the site for a while, you know that I have had a rocky relationship with the 3DS since its inception (cue boomy Inception music.) I’ve never been a fan of 3D, not even Avatar could make rise to some sort of three Dimensional boner. Mine exists…
This is a teaser or proof of concept of my upcoming project, “The Gamer.” This was a way to get my feet wet and practice for the big show.
I had the chance to talk to Jen Zee at the Microsoft booth. Bastion is just as amazing as I thought it would be!
So, there we have it- WiiU. Sounds like someone with a speech impediment trying to say Ryu. That said, this was very interesting. I’ll be talking about the conference live around noon on our stream with more discussion to come tonight. UPDATED: The from the floor show will be cancelled in favor of a special edition of The Game Show tonight! Check back around 6PM PST!
I can still remember that bright Spring afternoon, coming home from school and discovering that all my friends had gathered at my neighbors house. What mystery was contained that would stir up such a ruckus? A working lightsaber? A Neo Geo? I walked down the stairs into his basement to find the only light coming from the TV, projecting an eerie glow on all my open mouthed friends. Getting closer I could see that they were playing some new fighting game. It looked interesting, but I had Street Fighter II at home and had been completely obsessed with it, what…
Everyone and their Padinga are reporting that Nintendo will unveil a new console at E3 this June. Details are scant, but here is what everyone seems to agree on: The goal of this new console is to retake the hardcore market It will be more powerful than the 360 and Ps3 It will be fully backward compatible with the Wii Capable of full 1080p Will have a brand new controller with some sort of touch sensitive screen All I can say is, “FUCK YES!” Software is where most of the money is made on video games, and hardcore gamers buy…
You know I love retro remakes, so it should come as no surprise that I am salivating over the Streets of Rage remake. Try it out for yourself and let me know what you think in the comments. It is very faithful in its retroness, and the fact that it took 8 years to make should at least give you some inspiration to download.
