The 360 is really starting to shape up for me. I recently downloaded the Tomb Raider demo and played it over about 19 times. It’s amazing how well put together the game is. I don’t even have an opinion of the graphics because I was too distracted by the gameplay. Maybe I’m becoming a 360 fanboy. Wow, you might be thinking, wow, but it is actually a momentous occasion for me. See, the first two, were Gran Turismo 3, and Gran Turismo 4. That’s right, I was sold on a console, by one game. Anyway, what I bought was Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition. It’s like Ninja Gaiden, only fun. There’s none of the controller-smashing infuriation of Ninja Gaiden, just obscenely fun combat and boss fights. Dante, particularly, is growing on me, with his ‘you and what army?’ swagger, taunts, and cheesy one-liners.

The forums have been a buzz on some talk about X-Box 360, its lauch titles, and its subsequent releases. General consensus has been that X-Box 360 titles have only been better than their X-Box counter parts. Oh, and there’s the other bit about most X-Box 360 titles are also available on X-Box or are multiplatform.

The Dreamcast is one of my favorite systems of all time, and in it you can find Virtua Tennis living happily without much travel. People complain about sports games, but I also think that people shouldn’t forget Video Games and their roots in Pong. Pong is based on ping-pong and tennis, so in affect Video Games started as sports games. That said, I look at games of this nature not as sports games, but as games in general. I’m getting ready to play this game on 360, but I’ve been warming up on the regular Xbox until this delayed game finally gets released.I think the gameplay is much improved from last year. I especially like the ball-stealing mechanics Throwing the stick in the direction of the ball is an incredibly intuitive way to strip it. Also, using the stick to shoot on offense is also a big improvement.The 360 version is supposed to have improved arenas, player models, and presentation so I’ll check back with you then.

Mega Man Maverick Hunter X is a remake of Mega Man X (SNES) for the PSP. Graphically the game is absolutely stellar. MMMX takes levels originally made for the 16-bit SNES and beautifully converting them to the PSP. The backgrounds are beautiful and extend very far away from the player. The character models are also very well done.The music is done pretty well for the most part. There were a few times where I wondered exactly what they were doing with it, but there were a lot of times where I remembered the song and liked what they had done…

God really does hate us, apparently.. My power just came back on so I can post this, but we are supposed to get hit two more times today. I woke up this morning at 7:30 AM to no power, tornados all around me, and sirens going off. After all was said and done, much of Lawrence is damaged including 60 buildings at The University of Kansas. They might even cancel classes tomorrow.
