We’re back to weekly, and Goldenrod City did not disappoint.
The Team
Logan the Wooper had his best episode yet and went from “basically helpless”
to nearly getting swept by poison and surviving anyway. Kakuna finally
evolved into Beedrill mid-battle, which felt earned after how long we sat
on that cocoon stage. Maul is still our MVP-in-waiting for the next gym,
and we picked up a Jigglypuff along the way (named for our next scheduled
guest, Coury — sorry in advance, Coury).
We also spent a solid twenty minutes hunting Abra. Caught one Snubbull.
Nearly lost Logan to a Jigglypuff bout that got way tenser than a Jigglypuff
fight has any right to be.
Goldenrod City
We finally made it. The Department Store alone ate up a third of the
episode with its five floors, a Game Corner, a casino we didn’t gamble in (yet),
a brand new bike, and a Name Rater who was distinctly unimpressed with our
nickname choices. Worth it.
The Twist Ending
We stopped by the day care to check in on breeding and somehow walked away
with two separate Odd Eggs — one from the day care man, one from the day
care lady, back to back. We’re not entirely sure what to do with two
mystery eggs at once, but Jess has a hunch.
The Series
Break has never played a Pokemon game. Jess has loved Pokemon Crystal since
she was a kid. Every episode is Jess teaching Break the game, live on
stream, one gym at a time, until we catch ’em all (or die trying).
