Everyone and their Padinga are reporting that Nintendo will unveil a new console at E3 this June.  Details are scant, but here is what everyone seems to agree on: The goal of this new console is to retake the hardcore market It will be more powerful than the 360 and Ps3 It will be fully backward compatible with the Wii Capable of full 1080p Will have a brand new controller with some sort of touch sensitive screen All I can say is, “FUCK YES!”  Software is where most of the money is made on video games, and hardcore gamers buy…

You know I love retro remakes, so it should come as no surprise that I am salivating over the Streets of Rage remake.  Try it out for yourself and let me know what you think in the comments.  It is very faithful in its retroness, and the fact that it took 8 years to make should at least give you some inspiration to download.

My history with StarCraft goes back to the original, but my friends played it a much different way from the people that play “online” or “well.”  We simply enjoyed playing badly and sending our various guys out to kill each other with very little strategy.  As you might guess, StarCraft was a game that I enjoyed but was not very high on my list.  I mean I knew there were players out there, in Korea, that were amazing at this game, but I never really thought much about it.  RTS games were pretty low on my list at the time.

So, I stumbled upon Strider 2 for the PSX recently and I wanted to share it with you all as it is pretty rockin. I never played the original Strider which might paint me as a heretic, but its mainly because I didn’t have a Genesis until the very end of its lifecycle so it simply wasn’t possible for me to play it. To start off with, you should know that I grew up with Sonic the way that some people grew up with Mickey Mouse or Superman. I think a big part of my admiration for Sonic was because I got a Genesis so late in life because they were the forbidden fruit of the evil console for such a long time so when I actually got to play it it struck me with amazement.

I was browsing Metacritic.com today, and noticed that Grand Theft Auto IV is still the highest rated Xbox 360 game out on the market. It got me thinking, "How come GTAIV is the best rated game of the Xbox 360? What makes it so popular?" I finally got around to picking up Devil Survivor for the DS. The game follows the main character (get to choose his name) as he and his friends are stuck in Tokyo. Hero (my name for the main characters) gets a COMP (short for something a looks like a DS) to summon demons to battle other demons. The plot consist of you trying to find a way out of the Tokyo lockdown and learn why the lockdown was started in the first place.
