I’m a total whore for guides. Hell, I looked up a Skyrim guide within the first few minutes just to see if there would be any massive consequences down the road if I chose to follow the Stormcloak vs the Imperial. I think it’s because the chances of me having time to replay a game are fairly low (especially a game as big as this) and I like to make sure I’m not missing anything cool. I’ve been burned by too many Final Fantasy type games where if you didn’t know to look for some item within the first area, you’d never get the badass whatever at the end of the game.

My biggest problem is that I bought it for PC, and it’s definitely designed as a controller game. Navigating the menus is a pain in the ass, and I was often finding myself clicking on one thing only to have something else open up. I’ve played the Fallouts on PS3, but I’ve always played Elder Scrolls on a PC, so the change was really disconcerting.My wired Xbox controller just arrived and I’m going to try it whenever I have time to play… but it would have been nice if they’d adjusted the design a little bit for PC users so that this purchase wouldn’t have been necessary. (Though really, I’m overdue)

If I NEED a guide to finish a game, then its a poorly designed game. 

I am looking forward to grinding on this thing a bit. Maybe I’ll rent it and lose a weekend to it once I get this damn term paper knocked out.
