He gets himself caught so he can abduct Dr. Pavell, a person they obviously want very badly but who decided to defect to the US. As for the blood pumping, I admit that confounded me at first, but I later read online an explanation: pumping blood into that corpse will allow people at the crash site to assume Dr. Pavell was killed. Brilliant!

I dunno, I’m not sure I want that hulking monstrosity we see in Arkham City in a movie, just like I don’t want the ‘roid-rage Batman of AA and AC either. I’m cautiously optimistic about Nolan’s approach.
